Improve Self Esteem

We as adults struggle with self-esteem issues on a daily basis, since our self-esteem can affect almost everything we do. Self-esteem is the opinion we develop about ourselves in terms of our ability to meet the many challenges of life, and achieve happiness and success. Self-esteem is important because it heavily influences people's choices and decisions. In other words, self-esteem serves a motivational function by making it more or less likely that people will take care of themselves and explore their full potential. People with high self-esteem are also people who are motivated to take care of themselves and to persistently strive towards the fulfillment of personal goals and aspirations. People with lower self-esteem don't tend to regard themselves as worthy of happy outcomes or capable of achieving them. In this course, you will be able to i) Describe what self-esteem is and why it is important to your everyday health and wellbeing, ii) Describe the damaging impact of having low self-esteem, iii) Recognize low self-esteem, iv) Know methods to rebuild self-esteem.
