Fundamentals of Probability
Dr Keerti Jain
Statistics provide a way for a person to make decisions when the person is uncertain about the things or quantities involved in a decision. Probability is a way of expressing knowledge or belief that an event will occur or has occurred. So, every decision, has an element of probability in it. This only implies that from the time man was in the primitive stage to start using tools, probability was playing a vital role. Because there were chances that the tools and methods that were going to be used, could or could not work. This is a course on the fundamentals of probability geared to develop the mathematical maturity.Topics to be covered in this course: Trial and events, Random experiment, sample point and sample space, algebra of events, concepts of equally likely, mutually exclusive and exhaustive events. Concept of probability, Defining probability with various approach, Conditional probability, Baye’s theorem and its applications.
Who will benefit
Anyone who want to pursue or who is pursuing degrees in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering and Management should attend this course.
