As the world becomes busier and busier, the need for counselling increases. People are faced with many challenges in life, can be very isolated, depressed, uncertain or simply to share their challenges. There are myriad of reasons why we all need counselling. We all need to be heard, to share our woes. We seek counselling from parents, peers and significant others. Addressing our challenges effectively can help us live an emotionally balanced and happy life. Therefore, the role of the counselor is very important as s/he has to find out the root of a particular problem and to figure out the possible solutions. The counselor also helps people to choose the best course of action by helping him/her remain positive in his/her life. The course objective is to i) Help understand counselling, ii) To get an insight into self and others behaviour, iii) Acquire basic skills necessary for counselling.
